More About Kirsty

What inspired you to get into this line of work?
I’ve wanted to be a massage therapist. Since I was in high school. I was always
giving massages to friends and family, and after I left university, I decided to follow that passion and make it a career.

What are your qualifications?
I studied two years at Randwick TAFE, and have a Diploma of Remedial Massage.

What do you enjoy about working at Motion Health Centre?
I enjoy the team orientation. At Motion Health Centre we focus on building a
strong, solid team, where people receive a holistic approach. We’re not specific to one modality, and encourage our clients to try a variety of treatments, in order to have the best experience here.

Why should people come to Motion Health Centre?
People who want to improve their health and quality of life will benefit from Motion Health Centre. We focus on the best outcome for their mind and body, and genuinely want to improve their life.

When it comes to your modality, what are you passionate about?
I love building a rapport and relationship with my clients. Seeing them walk in
stressed, and leave so much more relaxed is rewarding for me. I really enjoy
seeing the instant change in them.

I also like seeing regular clients improve over time. With regular massage, you can really see the long term benefits in their attitudes and their health.

What is your philosophy on life and health?
I like to approach life and health with balance. If you’re straining hard at the gym, it’s also important to focus on relaxation. Hard work needs to be countered with some time out. Balance across all aspects of life is important.

What makes you different from other practitioners in your modality?
The relationships I build with clients means a level of trust that is not often seen across the board. Often clients come to talk with me as much as they do to receive a massage. I think that’s just as therapeutic sometimes. Counselling is a big part of what I do, even if it’s not a formal part of the massage therapy.
I’m very good at picking up on people’s energy – I’m a real empathy.  I think it’s important to be in tune with your client’s needs.

What type of clients do you absolutely love working with?
I love working with pregnancy clients, as I’m able to see their growth and gratitude throughout the entire duration of their pregnancy. Being able to help them with their aches and pains is very rewarding.

I also enjoy the remedial side of massage. Lots of my clients are office workers
and they’re at a desk all day, building up a lot of stress. To be able to provide an escape from that, means that I’m able to help them relax, and they can return to work with renewed energy.
